Veneers are a highly
popular treatment technique to dramatically change and beautify a
smile. Veneers not only change the color and brightness of
your smile, they renew the shape and contour of your smile giving
you a more youthful, vibrant appearance.
Veneers are new facings
for teeth. The term veneer implies porcelain, although there
are other types of veneers too.
Porcelain veneers are
usually done on the top front six teeth since these are the teeth
that define your smile. The teeth are minimally prepared,
roughening their surface to about a half to one millimeter in depth.
Temporaries (acrylic) are placed for a few days while the laboratory
fabricates the detailed porcelain facings. The new veneers are
then custom fitted and color matched to bring your smile into a
whole new realm. The finished veneers are bonded permanently
to your teeth.
Now using the latest CEREC technology at Glendale Dental Arts, beautiful, strong, durable veneers can now be started and finished in just a SINGLE visit! Call us for more information about CEREC, or make an appointment and find out how CEREC can help you.
Veneers are not for all
teeth. If your teeth are weakened by fractures or decay, or
have had root canals, posts, or similar prior treatments, then
veneers may not be possible or recommended.
