What Can be Done for Dental
Pain?
-
Long-term pain: If you have long term dental pain (days,
weeks or longer), you should make an appointment for an accurate
diagnosis and a treatment plan to deal with the problem.
-
Short-term pain: For short term
dental pain (sudden, sharp pain), the most effective
over-the-counter medications seems to be ibuprofen (brand name
example: Advil). Always be aware of possible allergic
reactions and proper dosage, by reading all labels. Ask your
pharmacist for details, or call us for further advice.
-
For new patients: If you are not an
active patient on record then you should call us to make a
new-patient appointment. We
cannot provide prescription medications to non-active patients.
