The Beginning
Glendale Dental Arts started
out as John Gazarian, D.D.S., Inc., 27 years ago.
Dr. Gazarian graduated in the
Summer of 1976, and without any ado, immediately began building his
first practice in Woodland Hills, CA. He custom-designed the 4-operatory
office and built it from scratch. In October of 1976, he had the
honor of celebrating his first grand-opening.
Dr. Gazarian immediately captured
the local San Fernando Valley population, and the practice grew quickly
as word spread of his reputation. Within a few years, patients
began seeking out Dr. Gazarian from all around Los Angeles, driving
from places as far as Glendale, Pasadena, and Hollywood. Soon,
the 4-operatory Woodland Hills office had become too limited and too
remote to cater to the needs of the high number of patients seeking
dental care from around the community. A decision had to be made.
Glendale
The office space in Woodland
Hills unfortunately did not offer room for expansion. And although
thoughts of moving to a larger office in Woodland Hills were considered,
the final decision was made to build in Glendale, a more centralized
location.
In 1981, the perfect location
was found: 3000 sq. feet of office space in the
Maryland
Office Plaza. Again the practice was designed by Dr. Gazarian
and custom-built from scratch. The grand opening for the new Glendale
office was celebrated in early 1982.
For one year, Dr. Gazarian operated
both the Woodland Hills and the Glendale practices. But in 1983,
the Woodland Hills practice was sold so that efforts could be concentrated
in Glendale.
Selling the original practice
was a hard decision to make, but it allowed Dr. Gazarian to provide
his unique dental services to a much wider range of patients in the
Los Angeles community. The patients from Woodland Hills were disappointed
with the move, but many still chose to remain under Dr. Gazarian's care
by driving to Glendale.
Glendale Dental
Arts
The new team of dental associates
and personnel was carefully selected from the contacts Dr. Gazarian
had previously established. Twenty years later, several of the
original staff members are still employed today!
Originally, Dr. Gazarian and
one associate were practicing full time general dentistry, as well has
having a full time hygienist on staff. But as time passed and
the practice continued to grow, more associates joined the practice and had
the tradition of Dr. Gazarian-style dentistry passed on to them.
Over the years, it became evident
that the style of dentistry practiced here was as much an art as it
was a science. And that's when the more fitting name of Glendale
Dental Arts was chosen.
Today
At Glendale Dental Arts, Dr.
Gazarian is the administrator and chief diagnostician. He is assisted by a team of two general dentists,
two hygiene dentists, and one hygienist. He has developed the high standards for the office,
and his associates implement those standards to the fullest. Dr. Gazarian is focused on
uniting the team's spirit and efforts to provide dental care of the highest
consistency, quality, and predictability.
The results are that Glendale
Dental Arts is often the number 1 chosen referral by insurance companies
striving to find the right dental office for a patient struggling elsewhere with complex
needs.
Since we are members of so many
insurance plans, we are under continual scrutiny by those insurance
companies as part of their normal quality assurance measures.
Audits and inspections by insurance companies are a regular,
ongoing process.
We are always proud to hear the complements
of the inspectors:
A recent insurance inspector said jokingly that he didn't even know why he was here since
"This is Dr. Gazarian's office. I know inspecting your office is a waste of my time."
A recent safety compliance inspector
said, "This is the best office I've seen this year!"
Another insurance company auditor
proudly exclaimed, "Your office is able to bring complex cases to
completion when other offices fail. I don't know how you do it, but I've never seen any office accomplish the things you do."
This is not a perfect world,
and no medical or dental procedure can be expected to be perfect especially
given the variables of nature and the human body. With all due
respect and humility, we know that not all of our results can be perfect.
But one thing is certain: no matter what type of situation is
presented to us, we do our absolute best to strive for and achieve results
as close as possible to perfection, every single time, and even when
others would call it impossible.
